Trisha is a skilled clinical social worker, independent mental health practitioner, and historically an international alcohol & drug counselor (IADC), licensed and certified in Nebraska and Iowa.
Trisha is an expert in using a whole-person systems theoretical approach in treating adults with a variety of challenges, symptoms, and diagnoses involved in the human experience, such as complex trauma, sexual abuse, PTSD, poor self-worth, excessive or unhealthy codependency and hyper independence, internal and social conflict, self-medicating, mood disorders, spiritual challenges, women's issues, and disempowering thinking patterns. These issues can hold you back from your potential- your potential to love yourself, others, and your life.
This provider holds a specialized certification and consultant-in-training status in -EMDR through the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (see additional bio information and education on this modality at emdria.org). Trisha is currently under consultation with Dr. Ann E. Potter, co-founder of the Attachment & Trauma Center of Nebraska and co-author of EMDR and Attachment-Focused Trauma Therapy for Adults: Reclaiming Authentic Self and Healthy Attachments (AFTTA model).
Other modalities and theories used in her practice include: Sandtray, Ego State approaches (such as AFTTA, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Developmental Needs Meeting Strategies (DNMS), etc.), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET/CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Collaborative Assessment & Management of Suicidality (CAMS), and Spiritual Exploration. Trisha is actively researching and adding new techniques as opportunities present, such as polyvagal theoretic exercises, hypnotic relaxation techniques, and other orientations that are more inclusive of the body - mind connection in an individual's mental health.
